With 63.9 million metric tons exported, Brazil became the largest grain supplier to the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The PRC imports a substantial 25% of the world’s grain trade volumes, making it the largest importer of grains in the world.
In 2021, the PRC hit a record high for grain imports, reaching an all-time high of 159 million metric tons. According to AXSMarine -experts in technology and maritime transportation- over the last six years there has been a 6% annual growth rate.
