Colombian Foreign Minister met with the Special Representative of the Chinese Government for Latin America and the Caribbean Affairs

Álvaro Leyva, Colombia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Qiu Xiaoqi, Special Representative of the Chinese Government for Latin American and Caribbean Affairs, on November 18. They discussed bilateral issues and the strengthening of matters of mutual interest between the two countries, such as trade, energy transition, cultural cooperation, and infrastructure, among others.

The Chinese official’s visit to Colombia which took place between November 15 and 19, is a reflection of the good ties of friendship that exist between the two countries. During the meeting, the representatives highlighted the need to further boost the bilateral agenda, particularly in the areas of cooperation and trade. Qui also met with President Gustavo Petro and the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Germán Umaña, during the inauguration of the 6th China-Colombia Dialogue.
