Costa Rica and the People’s Republic of China strengthen bilateral ties

Costa Rica and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) reaffirmed ties of friendship and cooperation on the occasion of the visit of Qiu Xiaoqi, Special Representative of the PRC Government for Latin American and Caribbean Affairs, to the Central American country.

Qiu Xiaoqi was received at the Yellow House by Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves Robles, Foreign Minister Arnoldo André Tinoco, Minister of Foreign Trade Manuel Tovar, and Minister of Public Works and Transport Luis Amador, with whom they held a meeting in the Golden Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both Foreign Minister André Tinoco and the President of the Republic, Rodrigo Chaves Robles, highlighted the importance of strengthening the mutual trust between the two nations in their fifteen-year-long relationship The President also referred to the opportunities offered by the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries, as well as strengthening political dialogue.
