According to an article published by El Caribe, on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Dominican Republic and the People’s Republic of China, the embassy of the Asian country in Santo Domingo officially presented a magazine titled “Invest in Dominican Republic.”
The magazine is expected to enable a strategic promotion of the Central American country as an attractive destination for foreign investment. The publication was produced by the Chinese embassy in collaboration with Psearcher, and aims to highlight the Dominican Republic’s commercial strengths, investment opportunities, and legal facilities.
The magazine is said to include updated information and data on the country’s most relevant and dynamic economic sectors, outlining potential business opportunities, the progress of bilateral relations, and the procedures required for foreign investment, making it a key source of reference for diplomats, investors, entrepreneurs, and others.
During the commemorative event, the magazine was distributed in physical format among attendees and included QR codes for access to the digital version. Several participants requested additional copies to share with their contacts.
In addition, the Chinese embassy in the Dominican Republic stated that it has copies available for distribution in various settings and during official visits, aiming for the wide dissemination of the magazine, fostering cooperation and investment between the two nations and other countries in Latin America.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of diplomatic relations between China and the Dominican Republic, several cooperation agreements have been signed in sectors such as agriculture, education, economy, trade, tourism, and culture, resulting in a total investment of over 200 million dollars.
In 2023, the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries reached 4.966 billion dollars, representing an increase of 4.2% compared to 2022.
Likewise, according to recent data from The Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC), in March 2025 the Dominican Republic exported goods worth 51.9 million dollars to China and imported products from the Asian country valued at 401 million dollars.
That month, the main Dominican exports to China were medical instruments (13.6 million dollars), raw tobacco (13.4 million), and copper ore (10.1 million). On the Chinese side, the most exported products to the Dominican Republic were coated flat iron (15.2 million), automobiles (12.4 million), and air conditioners (11.6 million).
Last but not least, the launch of the magazine “Invest in Dominican Republic” is expected to help consolidate and expand investment, export, and import flows between the two nations.
