Chinese Communist Party inaugurates communication seminar

June 20 saw the opening of the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) communication seminar entitled “Media Convergence.” Shen Beili, the vice minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, highlighted that the core purpose of this first meeting was to discuss the spread of social communication by political parties.
Over 300 people participated in this first meeting of the seminar, among them representatives and heads of media of political parties in Latin America, including Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru, Brazil, Guatemala, Panama, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. The director of Agenzia Xin Hua, Wen Jian, and the director of Contemporary World Magazine, Yang Wanquiang, presented concepts and mechanisms to disseminate news and successes in media outlets including newspapers, television, websites, social networks, and applications.
