Huawei announces cloud expansion in Latin America

The Chinese multinational technology company Huawei announced the expansion and improvement of its cloud business in Latin America, to boost digital transformation and development in the region. The information was announced by Fernando Liu, president of Huawei Cloud Latin America who also explained that new data centers will be inaugurated in Chile and Mexico in 2023.
According to the newspaper biobiochile, at an event held in Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Liu explained that “Huawei Cloud arrived in Latin America three years ago and we are already the fourth largest cloud service in the region. Throughout this time, we have built a solid experience and we aim to simplify the cloud-native journey and reach more industries in the region.” By 2023, the Chinese multinational will have spent more than $22 billion on research and development to be allocated to health, environment, sales, economy, education, fintech, or government, according to figures provided by the executive himself.
