Nicaragua signs agreements with Chinese News Media

On December 9, 2021, Nicaragua acknowledged the government of the People’s Republic of China. Almost three months later, Daniel Edmundo Ortega Murillo, Media Coordinator of the Communication and Citizenship Council in Nicaragua, signed three Agreements with Media Groups and News Agencies of the People’s Republic of China.
Daniel Ortega emphasized that following the signing of China’s Unity, Exchange, and Cooperation and Media Agreements, the ties of friendship between Nicaragua and the People’s Republic of China will continue to be consolidated and intensified. The following agreements were signed during the ceremony: the Collaboration Agreement to Co-Create the “Chinese Theater” between Channel 6 and the TV and Film Dubbing Center of China Media Group of China; the Memorandum of Understanding for the Licensing of News Material between Channel 6 and CCTV Plus; and finally, a Cooperation Agreement between 19 Digital and Xinhua News Agency. The Chinese Government representative in Nicaragua, Yu Bo, highlighted that since the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, different agreements have been implemented in order to consolidate and deepen their cooperation. He also said that the signing of these three agreements will lead to an exchange of culture and history.
