According to an article by the media outlet Telesur Tv, the Secretary General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, held a bilateral meeting with the representative of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Wu Hansheng.
During the meeting, the two high-level representatives from each government agreed to continue developing cooperation between both nations in order, according to them, to confront the “attacks of North American imperialism against both nations.”
Furthermore, according to the Secretary General of the PSUV, this bilateral meeting allowed both parties to engage in dialogue regarding the importance of maintaining relations between the ruling parties of the two countries.
Likewise, as a result of the meeting, the representatives of Venezuela and China agreed to continue developing the agreements that both nations have, which aim to train militants and increase cooperation and support among the workers’ movements of the two republics.
In this regard, Diosdado Cabello stated that these agreements are of great importance because “both China and Venezuela will continue to be targets of attacks from the new government of the United States, and it is the task of both parties to confront those attacks on the economies, the workers, and the militancy, united as one bloc.”
For his part, the representative of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China highlighted the victory of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in the parliamentary and gubernatorial elections held on May 25 of the current year, 2025.
It is known that the official visit by Wu Hansheng began on June 8 of this year, 2025, and he is accompanied by a delegation of officials from the government of the People’s Republic of China, with whom he attended several bilateral meetings with Venezuelan officials, including Diosdado Cabello.
According to TeleSur Tv, the bilateral relationship between these two nations has increased in recent years due to various high-level meetings, such as the one that took place in December of the immediately preceding year, 2024, when the Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, visited the city of Shenzhen, and as a result of that delegation, the two republics signed a financial and energy cooperation agreement.
Along the same lines, in 2023, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro carried out an official tour of the People’s Republic of China, during which both nations signed 31 cooperation agreements in various sectors, such as mining, tourism, trade, industry, health, agriculture, the economy, and infrastructure.
Last but not least, it is worth highlighting that, within the framework of their High-Level Joint Commission, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the People’s Republic of China have signed more than 600 bilateral agreements.
