The China-Venezuela Parliamentary Friendship Group was formally established in Parliament on May 30 in order to strengthen friendship, support, and cooperation between the two countries. The Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly (NA) held an online meeting to strengthen relations between the countries and deepen the agreement. Deputy Lemarc Gómez, member of the Friendship Group, emphasized in the meeting that parliamentary institutions are crucial for Venezuela, especially in relations with China, given the Asian country’s great support to Venezuela.

Wu Yuliang, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Congress, stressed the importance of the conference in terms of deepening economic, social, and political relations through the legislature. He also emphasized that the Chinese parliament knows that Venezuela is an ally and a model for China in the American continent. Second Vice-President of the NA, Vanesa Montero, said that the meetings benefit Venezuelan society, while Vice-President Rodolfo Sanz said that the organization helped in the fulfillment of bilateral agreements.
