USFQ to Host the Second Day of the International Forum “China – Latin America: Perspectives and Debates”
The Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) will host the second day of the International Forum China – Latin America: Perspectives and Debates on Thursday, April 24. With a strong record in independent academic training and international research, USFQ stands out as a key venue for regional analysis of the China–Latin America relationship.
USFQ is recognized for its liberal arts educational model, its commitment to academic excellence, and the promotion of critical thinking. It currently hosts the only Confucius Institute in Ecuador and maintains active exchange and collaboration programs with Chinese universities, in addition to contributing specialized publications on the relationship between the two regions.
On this day, the forum will take place at the Calderón de la Barca Theater and the Casa Blanca Theater. Discussions will focus on governance, environmental impact, trade, cultural exchanges, and future challenges in the China–Latin America relationship. The day will also feature the launch of the China–LATAM Studies Network.
Featured speakers include Sergio Cesarín (Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero, Argentina) and Carlos Aquino(Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Peru), who will present on regional responses to China’s presence and the role of the Port of Chancay in South America’s geostrategic dynamics.
