Bolivia and China sign cooperation agreements

According to an article published by the outlet Erbol, on June 10, 2025, the Plurinational State of Bolivia and the People’s Republic of China signed several bilateral agreements, which include loans and donations from the Asian country to the Bolivian state.
One of the agreements signed is a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, which will allow the exploration of projects aimed at Bolivia’s development, funded through Chinese resources such as interest-free loans, concessional loans, global development funds, South-South cooperation, and non-reimbursable assistance.
A technical and economic cooperation agreement was also signed, with the objective of granting a non-reimbursable donation of 100 million yuan, intended to finance projects previously agreed upon by both countries.
In addition, an agreement was signed for the donation of electronic equipment to the Plurinational Diplomatic Academy, with the aim of contributing to the modernization of the institution’s training and operational processes.
Moreover, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Bolivia, Wang Liang, announced a non-reimbursable donation of 500,000 dollars to the Plurinational State of Bolivia. These funds will be used to respond to emergencies caused by natural disasters, forest fires, and floods, as well as to support prevention and preparedness efforts for such events.
For her part, Bolivia’s Foreign Minister, Celinda Sosa, highlighted the long-standing cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing the agreements signed and the donation announced by Ambassador Wang Liang.
