The Chinese corporation Hainergy New Energy, part of the Haier Group, donated 10 non-invasive pulmonary ventilators to the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, destined for four hospitals in Havana.
The director of Cuba’s Calixto García University Hospital, Miguel García, explained that the arrival of the equipment will help patients with respiratory failure in the early stages, both pre- and post-ventilation. Sun Yongle, general manager of the corporation, expressed that his company is eager to help Cuba, which he considers an old friend, to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. Cuban Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (Mincex), Deborah Rivas, pointed out that the Asian company is considered a strategic partner for various sectors of the Cuban economy. Rivas stressed that in the midst of this complex context affecting the country due to the blockade imposed by the United States on the Caribbean nation and the international economic crisis caused by the pandemic, this gesture of solidarity ratifies the close relationship with the Haier Group, which dates back to 2004.
