High-level Cuban delegation visits China and signs cybersecurity agreement

Representatives from China and Cuba have officially signed a cybersecurity agreement in Beijing, affirming the commitment of both governments to promote an Internet environment that fosters the development and well-being of their respective populations. The agreement was jointly signed by Mayra Arevich, the Minister of Communications of Cuba, and Cao Shuming, the Vice Head of the Cyberspace Administration of China. This significant event took place during a productive working visit led by Vice Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo and his high-level delegation.

In addition to the cybersecurity agreement, Vice Prime Minister Perdomo engaged in discussions on various important economic matters with key figures during his visit to China. Notably, he held talks with Wang Weidong, the Executive Vice President of the China Development Bank, Sheng Hetai, the President of the Export Credit Insurance Corporation, and Han Fangming, the Head of the Charhar academic institute. Together, they reached an understanding to strengthen educational and cultural exchanges between the two territories. The working visit of the Vice Premier will continue tomorrow in Changchun, Jilin province, where he will meet with local authorities and visit the Changheber joint venture.
