According to the Global Energy report, the Government of Nicaragua signed an agreement with the People’s Republic of China for the financing of 66 million euros, aimed at the construction of a wind farm in the department of Estelí, specifically in the municipality of San Nicolás. This park will have an installed capacity of 55.2 megawatts (MW).
In this regard, the Vice President of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, stated that this financing will be in the form of a loan and will be used for the construction, supply, and commissioning of the wind power plant. The project will be led by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Nicaragua. Additionally, she mentioned that the final signing of the agreement will take place on Tuesday, March 4, in China, with representatives from the ministry and the Chinese company Communication Construction Company Limited (CCCC) in attendance.
Last but not least, the report highlights that this agreement is part of the commitments made at the CVII China-Latin America and the Caribbean Business Summit, held in the capital of Nicaragua, Managua, where contracts were also signed with Chinese companies for energy, infrastructure, and other projects.
