Growing bilateral trade between Peru and China

According to the Chinese ambassador in Peru, Liang Yu, the trade volume between both countries exceeded US $37,000 in 2021, which indicates a 60% growth compared to 2020. He also stated that the Asian country remains Peru’s first trade partner, its main export market and the most important source of investment in the last 8 years.
The Chinese diplomat stressed that the export of various agricultural products, such as blueberries and avocados, from Peru to China has grown rapidly. These reached an increase of 71% to 81% respectively compared to 2020, replacing Chile as the largest exporter of blueberries and avocados to China.
