Panama and China Review Their Bilateral Agenda

Panama’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Franco, met with China’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hua Chunying, to discuss bilateral agenda items. At the same time, Panama’s Minister of Agricultural Development, Augusto Valderrama, was on an official visit to China.
At the meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Panama, they addressed matters of mutual interest, including trade, technical exchanges, migration, and China’s interest in strengthening relations with Latin America. Both officials agreed on the importance of convening the ‘III Meeting of the Panama-China Political Consultation Mechanism’ to comprehensively review their shared agenda.
This Chinese diplomatic visit is the highest-level visit since the COVID-19 pandemic and materialized following the G77+China Summit in Havana, Cuba.
