During his visit to China, Argentina’s Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, reached significant investment and disbursement agreements with Chinese companies amounting to nearly US$ 1 billion. These funds, expected to arrive on July 15, will bolster the public reserves of the Argentine Central Bank, enhancing the country’s economic stability. Accompanied by Deputy Máximo Kirchner and other Argentine officials, Massa conducted crucial negotiations aimed at driving the country’s economy forward.
Notably, meetings with the Gezhouba Group, Power China, and State Grid were particularly significant. The Gezhouba Group, responsible for the construction of hydroelectric dams in Argentine Patagonia, committed to disbursing US$ 524 million in the coming weeks, contributing to the Central Bank’s reserves. The inclusion of Máximo Kirchner in the delegation holds importance, considering the approaching deadline for defining candidacies within Frente de Todos for the upcoming elections. This successful trip to China marks a positive step for Argentina’s economic prospects and potential political developments.
