Petrobras and China Energy International will explore business opportunities in clean energy

The Brazilian state-owned oil company, Petrobras, has announced the creation of a working group in collaboration with the Chinese state-owned company China Energy International to analyze joint business opportunities in the renewable energy and green hydrogen sectors. Both parties intend to develop these opportunities beginning in the second semester of this year. Petrobras aims to expand its investments in renewable energy and achieve a just energy transition. The president of Petrobras met with the president of the Chinese state-owned company to strengthen this partnership and explore new business opportunities.

China Energy International is interested in areas such as energy storage, projects and studies related to green hydrogen and ammonia, as well as sanitation and desalination operations in some countries. The working group will be coordinated by the Petrobras Director of Energy Transition and Sustainability, and its composition will be defined in the coming weeks. This collaboration between Brazil and China is intended to harness the potential of renewable energies and promote diversification and transition towards cleaner and more sustainable sources of energy.
