Peru and China congratulate each other on their 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations

On November 2, the presidents of China and Peru exchanged congratulatory messages on the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations. The Chinese president highlighted a long history of friendly exchanges and a solid foundation for bilateral ties. He added that, since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, China and Peru have shown solidarity and helped each other, actively pursuing the anti-pandemic fight and vaccine cooperation, interpreting the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity through concrete actions. Xi stressed the importance of Sino-Peruvian relations and expressed his interest in working with President Castillo to improve the two countries’ development strategies, strengthening cooperation in various fields and sectors in both nations, and thus taking the China-Peru comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
Castillo highlighted the long-standing friendship between the two countries, elevating bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in recent years. He also mentioned that the Peruvian Government attaches great importance to its relationship with China and, in turn, thanked it for providing a large amount of medical supplies and vaccines for the fight against the pandemic.
